Jonathan decided that he wanted to pee standing up tonight (because a boy in school does it too). So, I thought I'd encourage that and let him do it. Oh boy was that a sight. He literally peed everywhere but the toilet, but mostly on the wall. And, of course, once I realized what was happening, he had no control of stopping himself. So, I basically was a shield as best as I could to avoid completely soaking the walls. Regardless, he was very proud of himself for actually standing. And, I was proud that he tried. We've got lots of work ahead of us if he's decided this is his new way.

2011_02_08 Tuesday
Dave is in California this week. We dropped him off last night.
Jonathan manged to get himself undressed, go to the toilet, and then get himself dressed (including pulling out his heavy drawers), in all red no less, this morning. Very impressive!
Elise is a bit underweight according to our dr. So, she wants her to be on formula at least 2x/day. I have such a mental block to formula, but I'm just not producing enough milk to sustain her. Luckily I kept a couple of formula samples that should get us through three months. So, I've tried a couple of times, and she's just not taking a bottle, which I can totally understand. I think she's had one all of four times in her life so far! But, when I suctioned a straw, she totally took it. But, when I gave her the straw outright, she couldn't figure out what to do with it. We'll work on it. I also realized that I have some frozen milk, so I'll go through that first while I try to up my own milk supply for another 3 months.
Also, she's darn close to saying "all done" after a meal. It comes out closer to "ahhhh daaaah" but she's got the right idea. Still nothing resembling "mama" yet. She's clapping, doing 'so big,' and waving pretty consistently, and she'll rotate through those for a reaction. She has also identified the nose on other people.

2011_02_03 Thursday
Well, we've been hunkered down because of a tremendous amount of snow and then an ice storm. School was even postponed yesterday because the conditions were pretty slick. Truthfully, it was the drivers who were more of a problem than nature.
