Today was the lamest of the lame days. Not only was it cold, but the wind never let up. So, that sort of cancelled out any outside plans. Museums aren't open on Mondays, so that cancelled that out. Instead, we just stayed inside and hung out, doing nothing special in particular. Jonathan napped like a champion, so I had time to rebuild and restock our make-shift pantry in the dining room and finish off some freelance gigs before he woke up. We managed to walk into town around 5 (that was probably a mistake since it was so cold), but that negated us from picking up Dave an hour later. What a stinky day; I just never felt like I warmed up!
OH! After writing about raising kids bilingually, I sort of kicked myself in the rear to speak German to Jonathan. It's still very awkward for me, but I'm trying to be more aware of it. I speak German to him on the changing table and always say "danke" (thank you) after he does whatever I'm asking him to do. At some point this week, after I said "auf stehen" (which means "stand up") to pull his pants up, he said "danke!" It was pretty cool. I'm trying to encourage that beyond the changing table now too. We'll see how it goes.
