Today is another freezing cold day. And, since Jonathan didn't get up until after 9:30, we couldn't really go to our weekly playgroup, which was hosted inside this time. Instead, we had a leisurely breakfast; Jonathan is really loving eggs in the morning these days.
Then, we skiddaddled to the local IKEA. I had the great idea that he could play in their famous ball pit for awhile. As it turns out, kids have to be potty trained and a certain height to go inside. Boy, was he disappointed...me too. So, we loitered around the store for awhile; he pointed out all sorts of animals in the kiddy bedding section. We had a nice, cheap, Norwegian lunch too. They have a neat set-up; the cafe overlooks Newark Airport, so we watched tons of planes land right near us. Plus, it's right over I-95, so we saw lots of truuuuuucks pass by. AND, there's a cargo railroad next to I-95, so we saw trains too! I hit the jackpot for this little boy!! And, like all other IKEAs, it was impossible to find the exit, let alone get out of there without buying all sorts of junk. I managed to keep it under $10, though. One wise purchase was a set of plastic plates for him.
When we got home, the cleaning ladies hadn't come yet. That was a bummer because Jonathan was pooped, and I had hoped to have timed it just right. Of course, as I was putting his slippers on, they came. So, we played in the den for a few extra minutes while they tackled his room. Bugger's been sleeping for a good three hours now.
Meanwhile, I've been searching around for some freelance gigs. Nothing great out there right now beyond what I've already got going. So, I'll maximize on those.
